aking friends is part of skating.Membership in Babson Skating Club is open to skaters of all ages at any time during the year. Our members range in age from 6 to over 80! Our membership categories are listed in our application form. We offer a New Skater membership for skaters who have never skated with a club and a Basic Skills Bridge membership for skaters taking lessons at Babson Skating Center.

Our nationally recognized Ice Cubes Synchro Team, coached for over 15 years by Doreen Trunfio, is holding tryouts in late April-May 2008 for interested skaters; please call Doreen ASAP at 978-835-3979 for more information.

All members of the Club (plus a parent if a skater is under age 18) must be members of USFSA; fill in the USFSA form for both people. Members of another USFSA club may transfer membership to our Club freely at the beginning of each season (July 1st); but must have a transfer form signed by an officer of their current Club during the season.

The Club membership fee, activity fee and USFSA membership costs listed in the application must be paid in full with your application (after February 1st, membership and activity fees are reduced to 50% of the stated rates (USFSA and coaching fees are not prorated)). A deposit of at least $200 for each ice session purchased on a contract full season basis must accompany your ice application; the remaining balance is paid in three installments. Checks covering fees and deposits are payable to Babson Skating Club. You must contract separately with a coach for your lessons during Club ice.

Our ice sessions are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday as shown on our Ice Schedule. Members may contract ice sessions for the season (10-months from September through June, prorated for less than a full season), buy 10-pass books or pay individually each session.

During the summer, Babson Skating Center offers ice sessions from 7 to 9:50am Monday to Friday for moves, and freestyle practice (no axels or double jumps permitted) on public sessions from 10 to 11:50am Monday to Friday. See the ice schedule for exact dates and times or email Nancy Judge at Babson Skating Center at judgen@babson.edu or call her at (781) 239-6056.
